+ How to Install Bread & Butter on Your Website

Bread & Butter needs to be on every property a visitor can touch: your main website, your landing pages, your storefront or booking engine, your support portal. That is what lets it record an unbroken journey from the first marketing touchpoint to the moment someone converts, and it is what gives Focused Score and Deep Profile Enrichment the full picture to work from. Installation is one lightweight script per platform, or our plugin if you are on WordPress.

In short: find your platform below and add one script to the <head>  of your site, or install the official plugin if you are on WordPress. If your software is not listed, the Google Tag Manager or Custom JavaScript instructions work on any site. And if you would rather have it done for you, book a free white glove installation and we will set it up on our end.

For WordPress sites, use the official Bread & Butter WordPress plugin rather than the script. Standard tracking scripts lose a growing share of their data to browser privacy features and ad blockers. The plugin serves the script from your own domain and delivers the data server to server, a foundation those protections are not built to block, so Focused Score receives complete data. It also monitors your existing WordPress forms automatically, with no manual configuration.

A note on peripheral subdomains: your account allows one primary root domain to use the WordPress plugin. For peripheral subdomains that do not run WordPress, such as a support portal or a client portal, use Google Tag Manager or the standard JavaScript snippet instead.

We recommend unifying your tracking across the root domain and every peripheral subdomain, so the journey runs unbroken from a visitor's first touch on your main website all the way through to their use of your software or support portals.

2. Universal Setup: Google Tag Manager & Custom Scripts

For non-WordPress sites and for peripheral subdomains, the standard method is to place our lightweight JavaScript snippet in the <head>  section of your HTML.

Find your tracking script by opening the dashboard and going to Settings > App & Domains.
