By installing Bread & Butter on your Freshworks portal, you can seamlessly connect your support and documentation traffic to your primary website data. This ensures your LeadScore AI factors in deep research and support requests when calculating true buyer intent.

If you already manage your scripts via Google Tag Manager, you can skip the steps below and add your Bread & Butter snippet directly to your GTM container instead. Click here for GTM instructions. Otherwise, follow the steps below to install it manually.
Installation Instructions
Step 1: Locate your Tracking Script
- Log in to your Bread & Butter Dashboard.
- Navigate to Settings > App & Domains.
- Add the sub domain you want to merge with your primary domain account.
- Locate the JavaScript tracking snippet provided on this page. Your unique App ID is already dynamically included in the code.
- Click to copy the entire snippet.
Step 2: Add Custom Code in Freshdesk
- Log in to your Freshdesk Admin portal.
- Navigate to Admin > Portals > Customize portal.
- Click on the Layout & Pages tab.
- Select Portal layout and choose the Head section.
- Paste the tracking script you copied in Step 1 directly within the
<head>tags.
Step 3: Save and Publish
- Click Save and Publish to apply the script to your support portal.
Step 4: Verify Your Installation
- Open your live Freshdesk portal in a new browser tab or incognito window.
- Navigate back to your Bread & Butter Dashboard to verify that your active session is being recorded and your Lead Intelligence Engine is receiving data.
Troubleshooting
- No Data in the Bread & Butter dashboard? Verify that your App ID is correct in the script.
- Domain Check: Ensure your current Freshdesk URL is listed under Settings > Advanced Settings > Website Domains in the Bread & Butter dashboard.
