Connecting your booking engine is the first step to activating your Lead Intelligence Engine. By installing Bread & Butter across your Yardi RentCafe checkout flow, you seamlessly track the user journey from their very first website visit all the way through the reservation process. This ensures your LeadScore AI captures deep booking intent and attributes revenue to the exact marketing campaigns that drove it.
Deploying with Google Tag Manager?
If you already manage your scripts via Google Tag Manager, you can skip the steps below and add your Bread & Butter snippet directly to your GTM container instead. Click here for GTM instructions. Otherwise, follow the steps below to install it manually.
Installation Instructions
Step 1: Locate your Tracking Script
- Log in to your Bread & Butter Dashboard.
- Navigate to Settings > App & Domains.
- Add the sub domain you want to merge with your primary domain account.
- Locate the JavaScript tracking snippet provided on this page. Your unique App ID is already dynamically included in the code.
- Click to copy the entire snippet.
Step 2: Add Custom Code in RentCafe
- Log in to your RentCafe Dashboard and select the specific property website you want to track.

On the left-hand menu, navigate to Property Configuration.
Click on SEO, then select SEO Dashboard, and finally choose Analytics Tracking.
Scroll down the page until you find the Other Tracking section.
Click the + Add New Item button.
In the "Edit External Tracking" prompt, configure the following:
- What would you like to track?: Enter a clear name (e.g., "Bread & Butter Tracking").
- Paste your code here for
<head>: Paste the tracking script you copied in Step 1 directly into this box.
Step 3: Save and Publish
- Click Save at the bottom of the prompt to apply your tracking script to the live property site.
Step 4: Verify Your Installation
- Open your live RentCafe property website in a new browser tab or incognito window.

Navigate back to your Bread & Butter Dashboard to verify that your active session is being recorded and your Lead Intelligence Engine is receiving data.
Troubleshooting
- Can't find the SEO Dashboard? Yardi often restricts access to the SEO settings. You may need to request that your corporate Yardi Administrator grant you permissions to access the Analytics Tracking page.
- No Data in the Bread & Butter dashboard? Verify that your App ID is correct in the script.
- Domain Check: Ensure your current RentCafe property URL is listed under Settings > Advanced Settings > Website Domains in the Bread & Butter dashboard.
- Not Hosted on RentCafe? If your actual corporate or property website is hosted elsewhere (like WordPress or Webflow) and only uses Yardi APIs for floorplans, ignore the RentCafe backend. You will need to add the tracking script directly to your actual website builder's
<head>settings instead.
