By installing Bread & Butter on your Intercom portal, you can seamlessly connect your support and documentation traffic to your primary website data. This ensures your LeadScore AI factors in deep research and support requests when calculating true buyer intent.
Deploying with Google Tag Manager?
If you already manage your scripts via Google Tag Manager, you can skip the steps below and add your Bread & Butter snippet directly to your GTM container instead. Click here for GTM instructions. Otherwise, follow the steps below to install it manually.
Installation Instructions
Step 1: Locate your Tracking Script
- Log in to your Bread & Butter Dashboard.
- Navigate to Settings > App & Domains.
- Add the sub domain you want to merge with your primary domain account.
- Locate the JavaScript tracking snippet provided on this page. Your unique App ID is already dynamically included in the code.
- Click to copy the entire snippet.
Step 2: Add Custom Code in Intercom
- Log in to Intercom and navigate to Settings > Help Center.
- Click on Custom domain & Appearance.
- Scroll down to locate the Custom Code section.
- Paste the tracking script you copied in Step 1 into the box designated for custom head/header code.
Step 3: Save and Publish
- Click Save to push the tracking script live to your help center.
Step 4: Verify Your Installation
- Open your live Intercom Help Center in a new browser tab or incognito window.
- Navigate back to your Bread & Butter Dashboard to verify that your active session is being recorded and your Lead Intelligence Engine is receiving data.
Troubleshooting
- No Data in the Bread & Butter dashboard? Verify that your App ID is correct in the script.
- Domain Check: Ensure your current Intercom URL is listed under Settings > Advanced Settings > Website Domains in the Bread & Butter dashboard.
