Install Bread & Butter on Document360
Document360 powers your knowledge base and support docs, and Bread & Butter connects that traffic to the rest of your visitor data. One script, no plugin, and research or support activity gets factored into buyer intent alongside everything else a visitor does on your site.
In short: one script connects your Document360 knowledge base to Bread & Butter, no plugin and no developer required. It shows you who's a genuine prospect, not just a pageview, and folds documentation and support research into the same lead scoring as the rest of your site.
Once it's running, Bread & Butter watches how visitors engage with your knowledge base, not just how many pages loaded. For a lot of B2B businesses, someone digging through documentation or support articles before they buy, or after, is a meaningful intent signal, and Bread & Butter surfaces that alongside everything else a visitor does on your main site, connecting the two into one picture instead of leaving your docs traffic as a blind spot.
Frequently asked questions for Document360
Does this work on any Document360 plan? We haven't been able to confirm from Document360's public documentation whether Custom HTML is limited to certain plans. Check under Settings > Knowledge base site > Custom HTML in your own account to confirm you have access.
Does this work on a private or login-gated knowledge base? The script itself installs the same way regardless of whether your knowledge base is public or requires reader login. We haven't confirmed whether a logged-in reader's identity is something the script can pick up directly, so for now, treat identification on a private knowledge base the same as you would anywhere else, based on forms or other activity, rather than assuming login alone identifies someone.
Do I need a developer to install this? No. It's a copy-and-paste step into Document360's Custom HTML panel, the same place you'd add Google Analytics or a similar tracking tag.
Does this work with a custom domain, or only a document360.io subdomain? Either. The tracking script is embedded in the page itself, so it works the same way regardless of what domain your knowledge base is published under.
Bread & Butter Conversion Tools: If you want a dedicated on-site tool to capture emails or identify visitors browsing your documentation, Bread & Butter also offers its own suite of optional Conversion Tools, floating lead capture forms with one-click social login, content gating for premium assets, and AI-triggered incentive popups, that plug directly into your Bread & Butter account, no separate app required. See our Conversion Tools overview for the full list.
What if my main website and my Document360 knowledge base run on separate domains? This is common, for example a main site on one domain with docs hosted on a separate Document360-branded domain or subdomain. Bread & Butter doesn't use cookies, it uses a GDPR-compliant identifier stored locally in the visitor's browser. Install the same tracking script on each domain, and Bread & Butter reconciles the activity into one visitor journey, even across different platforms.
