Bread & Butter for digital agencies: prove your work and grow every client

Clients rarely leave because the work was bad. They leave because they couldn't see it working. Every month you send clicks, sessions and form fills, and every month the client wonders how much of it turned into business. Bread & Butter changes what you can show them: the real people your work brought to their website, the ones who raised a hand, who they are, and which campaigns and pages brought the ones who bought.

In short: Install Bread & Butter on each client's website, with the WordPress plugin or one tracking code, and there's nothing else to set up. Every visitor is recorded from the first visit, with bots taken out, and scored on how ready to buy they look. Everyone who raises a hand is researched and delivered to the client's team in their CRM, Slack or inbox, with the whole journey attached. Connect Google Ads and every campaign and keyword is judged by the buyers it brings, with a Scale, Watch or Investigate verdict. Connect your AI assistant and you can run ready-made reports for any client by name, including a one-page Report for Your Boss built for the client's leadership, and have them arrive every month on their own. You manage every client from one place, the Accounts section, each with its own data, plan and team, and you choose what each client's people can see. It's priced per website with no charge per seat, and agencies managing several clients can ask about partner pricing.

Why clients stay

The client relationship you want is the one you can prove. Bread & Butter gives you proof in the client's own language: buyers, not traffic.

  • Real visitors, not bots. Bots and scrapers now make up more of the web than people do. Every number in Bread & Butter leaves them out, so the traffic you report is traffic that could buy.
  • Who read closely. Focused Score ranks every visitor from 1 to 10 on how ready to buy they look, against everyone else on that client's website. The Focused visitors are the people your campaigns and content actually reached.
  • Who raised a hand. Every form, subscription, booking and one-click conversion becomes an Engaged Lead with a verified email address, a researched profile and their full journey.
  • Who bought. When the client marks a lead Won/Closed, you can trace that sale back to the first visit, the campaign and the page that started it.

Take that into a quarterly review and the conversation changes from "what did we get for the spend?" to "where should we put more?".

Make your client's sales team love you

Most tools an agency installs ask the client's sales team to change something: a new dashboard, another tool to open, a chat window to staff. They don't, and the tool quietly dies. Bread & Butter asks nothing of them.

  • Leads arrive where they already work. Every Engaged Lead lands in the client's CRM, Slack or inbox as an Intelligence Brief: who the person is, the company behind them, what they read, why now, and a first line to open with. It updates every time the lead comes back. See The Intelligence Brief.
  • Their existing forms, unchanged. Bread & Butter works with the forms already on the client's website. Nothing to rebuild, no fields to map.
  • A first email, drafted. Nurture drafts a one-to-one email from the research and the journey. A person on the client's team reviews it and sends it.
  • A heads-up when a lead comes back. The Leads to follow up report shows who came back this week, who's ready to call and who's going cold.

When the sales team says the leads got better, your contract renews itself.

More leads from the same traffic

Better reporting keeps clients. More leads grow them. The campaigns you run on LinkedIn, Facebook and the other social platforms live inside someone else's walled garden: the visitor clicks through to the client's website, reads, and leaves without a trace. Bread & Butter's conversion tools sit on the client's existing website and give that visitor a one-click way to raise a hand, with the account they're already using.

  • One click instead of a long form. Long forms are where interest dies. A visitor who would never fill in eight fields will click "Continue with LinkedIn", and their name and verified email address arrive in the client's CRM. Need more? Ask afterwards with Custom Fields, once the lead is already captured.
  • The account they already use. Google, Microsoft, LinkedIn, Apple, Facebook and X for most audiences. Slack, GitHub and Twitch for technical ones. Salesforce, QuickBooks, Basecamp, Dropbox and Planning Center for buyers who live in those tools. B2B websites can add Okta and OneLogin, and email is always there too.
  • On any page. Raising a hand isn't tied to one contact page. It can happen anywhere on the website, in any browser.

The tools that do it:

  • Instant Lead Capture: a "Continue with" widget in the corner of any page.
  • Form Booster: one-click verification on top of the forms they already have, so spam and fake addresses stay out of their CRM.
  • Content gates: turn the guides, reports and floor plans you produce into leads, while search engines and AI assistants still read them.
  • Auto-Gate: Bread & Butter picks the pages, the tool and the moment for you, and asks only the visitors most likely to say yes.

Every one of these leads arrives verified and researched, not as one more unchecked address on a list. See Conversion tools overview.

Prove every ad dollar

For paid media, connect the client's Google Ads account. Bread & Butter matches each click to the visitor it brought and measures the campaign by the buyers it brings, not the clicks it buys.

  • Focused CPM and Focused CPC: what the client really pays for a visitor worth having.
  • A verdict on every campaign and keyword: Scale, Watch or Investigate, so you know where to move budget before the client asks.
  • Visits your tracking tags missed: paid visits that arrived without the right UTM tags, so you can fix them.
  • Budget shifts at the same total spend: up to three moves that put more of the budget where the buyers are.
  • A timeline of your changes: every budget change you made, and what it did.

That's the Ads Spend report. Put it in front of a client and you're not defending spend, you're showing them where the next dollar should go. See Connect Google Ads and Ads Spend report.

Monthly client reporting, in minutes

Connect your AI assistant (Claude, ChatGPT or Copilot) to Bread & Butter once, and you can ask anything about any client's visitors, or run a ready-made report by name for a period you choose.

  • Name the website. "Run the Report for Your Boss for marigoldcrossing.example for October." Your assistant picks the right client from your accounts.
  • Run them all at once. "Run all my Bread & Butter reports for last month for marigoldcrossing.example."
  • Have them arrive on their own. Schedule any report to run every week or every month, so it's ready before the client meeting. See Run your Bread & Butter reports on a schedule.

The reports agencies use most:

  • Report for Your Boss: one page for whoever signs the cheque. What's interesting on the website, who was on it, what they wanted, and the few numbers that show it's working. This is the one to send the client's leadership every month.
  • Leads we found for you: how many Engaged Leads the website captured, how they raised their hand, who they are and how far they've gone toward a sale.
  • Attribution & Leads: which sources, campaigns and pages bring Focused visitors and Engaged Leads, all the way to the sale.
  • Scorecard: one measure across today, the last 7, 30 and 90 days, the year and all time, so a slow day never looks like a trend.
  • Email Campaigns: which emails brought buyers, and which clicks were security scanners rather than people.
  • AI Assistants & GEO: the visitors ChatGPT, Perplexity and other AI assistants send the client, and the AI crawlers reading their content.

Every card in a report ends with a question to ask next, so you can go from a monthly report to a recommendation in the same conversation. Connecting an AI assistant and the reports are part of the Pro Plus plan and the free trial, and each report uses credits. See Bread & Butter MCP server connections.

Every client in one place

The Accounts section is where you manage every client from one Bread & Butter user.

  • One Account per client. Click Add Account, enter the client's name and domain, and install the tracking script or the WordPress plugin on their website. It takes about a minute.
  • Each client stands on its own. Every Account has its own App ID, dashboard, data, plan, credits and team. A lead captured on one client's website never appears in another's.
  • Move between clients in one click. Search, switch between card and table view, and open any client's dashboard directly.
  • No charge per seat. Invite as many people as you like, on your side and the client's.
  • Each client's trial and calibration start separately, when their tracking script is installed.

You decide what each client sees

Every person you invite to a client's Account gets a role, and you choose it.

  • Sales: the client's team sees every lead, every profile, the research and the journeys, and runs the two sales reports. Attribution, Ads Spend and the other marketing reports stay with you, so you can keep adjusting the work and walk the client through results when you're ready.
  • Marketer: if a client wants the marketing view too, give them the Marketer role and they see the same reports you do. It's your call, client by client.
  • Accounting: for the client's finance person, if the client pays for their own Account.

Nothing to set up, for you or the client

  • One install per client. The WordPress plugin, or one tracking code pasted once on Webflow, Shopify, Squarespace and the rest.
  • Nothing to configure. No rules to write, no fields to map, no scoring model to train. Scoring starts from the first visit; after 15 days the client's Focused Ratio is calibrated against the Focused Index across all Bread & Butter websites.
  • Help when a website is unusual. If a client's setup is complicated, book a white glove session and we'll get it running with you. See Maximize Your Success: Book a White Glove Support Session.

Works with whatever your client already runs

Every client has a different stack, and you shouldn't have to win an argument about replacing it.

  • Their website: WordPress, Webflow, Squarespace, Wix, Framer, Weebly, Ghost, Carrd and HubSpot Content Hub, plus landing pages on Unbounce, Instapage, Leadpages, ClickFunnels and Systeme.io.
  • Their store: Shopify, WooCommerce, BigCommerce, Magento, PrestaShop, Ecwid and Lightspeed eCom, checkouts included.
  • Their forms: HubSpot, Salesforce, Marketo, Pipedrive, Contact Form 7, WPForms, Gravity Forms, Elementor and Ninja Forms, and any hard-coded form.
  • Their courses, community and help centre: Kajabi, Thinkific, Mighty Networks, Circle, Zendesk Guide, Intercom and Help Scout.
  • Their booking tool: Calendly or Google Calendar, with Calendar Booster.
  • Where the leads go: Salesforce, HubSpot, Pipedrive, Mailchimp, Slack, Google Sheets, Segment, Google Analytics (GA4), Zapier or any webhook.

Data your clients can stand behind

Your name is on the recommendation, so the tool has to be one your clients can defend.

  • Their website, and nothing else. Bread & Butter records what happens on the client's own website, with no third-party cookies.
  • Nobody is named until they raise a hand. No guessing who visitors are from their IP address, and no buying data to work it out.
  • Their consent tool is respected. If the client's website runs a consent tool, Bread & Butter follows the choice visitors make there.
  • Their data is theirs. The journeys recorded on a client's website belong to the client, and Bread & Butter doesn't sell them.

Start with one client

  1. Pick one client where you'd like to prove more than you can today: a paid campaign, a content program, or a website that "doesn't convert".
  2. Add their Account and install Bread & Butter. Their 30-day Pro trial starts when the tracking script is installed.
  3. Connect their Google Ads and their CRM, if they have them.
  4. Connect your AI assistant and, after the first month, run the Report for Your Boss for that client.
  5. Take it to your next client meeting. Then decide how many more clients to add.
