Custom Fields

Want to gather deeper intelligence on your leads without destroying your initial conversion rates? Custom Fields allow you to effortlessly capture additional data, like a phone number, company size, or industry, immediately after a visitor signs up.

The Convert First Strategy

When a visitor chooses to authenticate using a social account, they are instantly routed directly to that specific social provider, temporarily leaving your website. This is a brilliant, intentional security design ensuring your website never sees or handles any sensitive passwords. However, because of this immediate departure, the widget cannot ask for additional data fields before the user converts.

Instead of introducing heavy friction that kills conversions, we made a highly strategic choice: convert them first, ask questions later. By securing the authentication right away, we guarantee that you instantly capture the engaged lead in your system. Then, the exact moment the visitor returns to your site from the authentication provider, your beautifully designed Custom Fields seamlessly appear on screen to complete their profile.

Why Custom Fields Drive Better Data

  • Zero Initial Friction: Capture the verified lead immediately before asking them to do any extra work.
  • Secure by Design: Social routing keeps your platform completely isolated from sensitive authentication data.
  • Total Flexibility: Set as many textbox or checkbox fields as your sales team requires.
  • Enforce Data Quality: Flag any specific field as absolutely mandatory so users cannot proceed until they provide the required information.
  • Rich Formatting: Easily include HTML links directly inside your checkbox display names to reference external pages or agreements.

Customizing Your Custom Fields

Setting up your post conversion questions is incredibly fast and easy. Follow these simple steps directly inside your WordPress plugin:

Step 1: Access Your Settings In the left menu of your WordPress Admin dashboard, click on Bread and Butter.

Step 2: Locate the Custom Fields In the left menu, navigate to General settings, then scroll to the Custom Fields section.

Step 3: Tailor the Messaging Set your specific header and sub header text. If you do not set your own custom content, our highly optimized default messaging will be used.

Step 4: Build Your First Field Configure the exact data you want to capture:

  • Choose a Type: Select Checkbox, or select Textbox if you want the user to type something out like a phone number.
  • Enter a Custom Key: This is the exact database value the entry will be stored under. Please ensure this value contains absolutely no spaces.
  • Enter a Display Name: This is the public text that will appear to the user. For Checkbox fields, you can easily include HTML to create a clickable link.
  • Set the Rules: Choose whether the field is mandatory. If selected, users will be completely unable to proceed without completing it. For Checkbox types, you can also specify whether the box is checked by default.

Step 5: Save and Expand Click Save. You can easily repeat these exact steps to add as many remaining fields as you want. You have total freedom to add or remove fields at any time, and you can easily change the display order.
