Run your Bread & Butter reports on a schedule

Every AI assistant Bread & Butter connects to can run a prompt on a schedule. Set one up once, and your Bread & Butter report arrives on its own every Monday morning, or on the first of the month, without anyone asking for it.

In short: Connect your assistant to the Bread & Butter MCP server, then schedule a prompt such as "Run my Bread & Butter Leads to follow up report for the last 7 days." Claude, ChatGPT, Microsoft 365 Copilot, Gemini and Mistral Vibe each have a scheduling feature; the steps for each are below. Each run is a normal question to Bread & Butter, so it uses credits like any other, and the report lands in your assistant as a new conversation.

Before you start

  • Connect your assistant. The scheduled prompt runs with the same connection you use when you ask a question yourself. See Bread & Butter MCP server connections. If the connection isn't there when the schedule runs, your assistant tells you how to connect instead of running the report.
  • Run the report once by hand first. Ask for the report in a normal conversation and check that it comes back the way you want. Scheduling repeats what works; it doesn't fix a prompt that doesn't.
  • Use a period that moves. Write "last month", "the last 7 days" or "last week" in the prompt, not "September". A fixed month runs the same report every time.
  • Credits. Each run asks Bread & Butter for data, so it uses credits like a question you ask yourself. A weekly report uses more over a month than a monthly one. See How do Credits work across storage, syncing, and profile enrichment?

The prompt to schedule

One line is enough. Name the report, the period, and what you want done with it:

  • "Run my Bread & Butter Leads to follow up report for the last 7 days."
  • "Run my Bread & Butter Ads Spend report for last month and list the budget shifts at the top."
  • "Run my Bread & Butter Attribution & Leads report for last month and compare it with the month before."
  • "Run my Bread & Butter Scorecard for Focused visitors, by top pages."

Your assistant gets the report template from Bread & Butter each time it runs, so there's nothing to attach. If you have several websites in Bread & Butter, name the one you want: "for gorving.ca".

Which report, how often

Report A good schedule Why
Leads to follow up Weekly, Monday morning It lists who came back last week and who is going cold; it's a call list.
Scorecard Daily or weekly Six periods side by side, from today to all time, so a change shows up the week it starts.
Leads we found for you Monthly, the 1st It's the month's story of what the forms and the conversion tools captured.
Attribution & Leads Monthly, the 1st Sources and campaigns move month to month, not day to day.
Ads Spend Monthly, the 1st, or weekly while you're changing budgets The budget shifts need a full month of data; weekly is for watching a change land.
Exit Destinations Monthly Partners and destinations change slowly.
AI Assistants & GEO Monthly Visits from AI assistants are still small for most websites; a month gives enough to read.
Old School Website Analytics Monthly Pages, locations and devices are a monthly read.

Claude

Scheduled tasks are available on the Pro, Max, Team and Enterprise plans.

  1. In Claude, open Scheduled in the left sidebar and choose New task.
  2. Choose Create with Claude, describe the report and when you want it ("my Bread & Butter Leads to follow up report, every Monday at 8 am"), and answer Claude's questions. Or choose Set up manually and enter a name, the prompt and how often it runs: hourly, daily, weekdays, weekly or on demand.
  3. Check that the Bread & Butter connector is switched on for the task, then choose Schedule.

Each run is its own conversation under Scheduled, where you can also see past runs, pause the task or change it. Scheduled tasks run on Claude's side, so your computer doesn't need to be on.

ChatGPT

Scheduled tasks are available on every ChatGPT plan; the number you can have at once depends on the plan (3 on Free and Go, 5 on Plus, 10 on Business and Edu, 15 on Pro and Enterprise), and a free account can run a task at most once a day. Custom connectors, which Bread & Butter uses, need a paid plan.

  1. In ChatGPT, open Scheduled in the sidebar and create a task, or type the request in a conversation: "Every Monday at 8 am, run my Bread & Butter Leads to follow up report for the last 7 days."
  2. Confirm the schedule ChatGPT proposes.
  3. Turn on notifications under Settings, then Notifications, so you hear when a run is ready.

One thing to know: a ChatGPT task can't read files you upload. It doesn't need any: the prompt above is all it takes, because the template comes from Bread & Butter.

Microsoft 365 Copilot

Scheduled prompts need a Microsoft 365 Copilot licence and work in Copilot Chat, Copilot in Teams and Outlook. You can have up to 10.

  1. Ask for the report once in Copilot Chat, through the Bread & Butter agent your company set up.
  2. Hover over your prompt and choose Schedule this prompt.
  3. Choose when it runs, how many times, and whether you want an email when the response is ready, then choose Save.

Scheduled responses appear in the Chats list, marked with an icon. To change or stop one, open Settings and more, then Scheduled prompts.

Gemini

Scheduled actions are available with a personal Google account or a qualifying Google Workspace edition, and need Keep Activity turned on. You can have up to 10 active at once.

  1. In Gemini, type the prompt with the schedule in it: "Every Monday at 8 am, run my Bread & Butter Leads to follow up report for the last 7 days."
  2. Gemini replies with a summary of the scheduled action. Check it, and change it later from Settings & help, then Scheduled actions.

Gemini prepares a scheduled response ahead of the delivery time (within the hour before on a Google AI plan, up to several hours before without one), so a report scheduled for 8 am shows the data as it stood a little earlier. For a monthly report that makes no difference; for "today's" numbers, ask in a conversation instead.

Mistral Vibe (formerly Le Chat)

  1. Open Scheduled in the sidebar, choose New Task, write the prompt, choose a frequency (once, daily, weekly, monthly or yearly) and a time of day, then choose Schedule. Or ask in a conversation: "Schedule this to run every Monday at 9 am."
  2. Because a scheduled run happens without you, set the Bread & Butter connector to Always allow so the run isn't held waiting for your approval.

Results appear in the sidebar with an unread dot, and you can ask follow-up questions in that conversation.

When a run comes back empty or wrong

  • "Connect Bread & Butter first." The connector was switched off or the connection lapsed. Reconnect as described in Bread & Butter MCP server connections and run the task again.
  • The same numbers as last time. The prompt names a fixed month. Change it to "last month" or "the last 7 days".
  • Ads Spend says Google Ads isn't connected. The report needs your Google Ads account connected in Bread & Butter. See Connect Google Ads.
  • Out of credits. The run stops and tells you. Add credits in Account, and the next run goes ahead.
