Step 1: Access the Settings In your left menu in the WordPress Admin, click on Bread and Butter.

Step 2: Select Your Pages In the left menu, select Subscription Booster. Specify the exact web pages or post categories where you want the prompt to appear. You can choose one or many pages.

Step 3: Choose Your Template Choose the Subscription Booster type that best fits your needs. This will prepopulate suggested text and a custom event name for you. If you want to build everything from scratch, simply select Custom.

Step 4: Add Visuals Set up the image that will appear on the left side of the window. You can click Choose from library to pick from our default images, click Upload your own to add custom branding (we recommend 450 by 600 pixels), or select Without image for a clean text only design.

Step 5: Customize the Messaging Set up the perfect pitch to prompt your users to sign up:

  • The Header: The main text that appears at the top of the window.
  • The Subscription Booster Message: The main body text explaining the value of your newsletter and why the user should subscribe.
  • The Success Header and Message: The exact confirmation text users see immediately after they have successfully signed up.
  • The Display Timer: The number of seconds after the page loads before the Subscription Booster appears.

Step 6: Match Your Brand Colors Set custom colors to perfectly match your website styling. You can adjust the Font color, the Button color, and the Button font color.

Step 7: Advanced Routing (Optional) Enable Override Registration Destination URL if you have a global routing rule set in your main application settings, but you do not want it to apply to these specific pages.

Step 9: Track Custom Events Verify the Custom User Event that will trigger in your Opportunities view whenever a user subscribes. You can easily customize the name and color of this event so it stands out in the user journey.

Step 10: Set Up Automations When a user signs up, you can trigger a direct integration. You can automatically add a user to a specific audience in Mailchimp or trigger any downstream workflow using Zapier.

Step 11: Save and Launch Click Save to apply your changes. Your Subscription Booster is now live and actively capturing verified leads!


Setting Custom Rules Per Page

Do you need a specific page to have different content or behavior? All Subscription Booster settings can be configured at the individual page level! Just follow these quick steps:

  1. Open the WordPress page editor for the specific page or post.
  2. Click the Bread and Butter logo at the top right, or click the Options button and select Bread and Butter under Plugins.
  3. Expand the Subscription Booster section in the right hand panel.
  4. Click Enable, and then make your custom adjustments.
