How the Content Gate Secure Works

When a visitor attempts to view your premium asset, they are met with a completely secure gate. They must verify their identity first. Once they successfully authenticate using a social login or email +password, the system instantly redirects them to your gated material. Because it requires verification before the content even loads, the material remains completely hidden from the public.


Customizing Your Content Gate Secure

The Bread and Butter Content Gate Secure feature allows you to strictly lock down one or more WordPress pages and files, ensuring only authenticated users can ever access them. You have total control over how visitors engage. You can require a First Name and Last Name, enforce a verified Email plus Password plus PIN, provide a verified Sign in link, or offer our frictionless social login options.


Here is how to set up your secure gates:

Step 1: Access the Settings In your left hand WordPress admin menu, click on Bread and Butter.

Step 2: Select Your Pages Click on Content Gate Secure in the left menu, then scroll down to the setup section. Here, you can specify the exact web pages or post categories that you want to limit to signed in users. You can choose one or many pages. Simply start typing, and the system will auto complete your selection.

Step 3: Customize the Messaging Style your secure gate by setting custom content to perfectly match your specific use case. If you do not specify custom text, the highly optimized default content displayed in the fields will be used. Please note that the default content is automatically localized and translated into all our supported languages.

  • The First Paragraph: The primary message that appears to the left of the tool in the beautifully blurred area.
  • The Second Paragraph: The supporting content that appears immediately below the first paragraph.
  • The Third Paragraph: The specific text that displays below the second paragraph, perfect for explaining the high value of your protected asset.
  • The Third Paragraph Expanded: The extra content you want to display when a user actively clicks to expand. This lets you add more detailed text, terms, or value propositions for users who need more information before converting.
  • The Expand Trigger: This is the specific text the user clicks to see the expanded paragraph. You can make this anything you want, but we highly recommend starting with "more >>" to see how it looks.

Step 4: Advanced Routing Enable the Override Registration Destination URL option if you have a global routing rule set in your main application settings, but you do not want it to apply to these specific secure pages. If you do not have a global destination URL set, you can safely ignore this setting.

Step 5: Save and Launch Click Save to save and apply your changes. Your specified pages are now strictly gated and protected for signed in users only!
