Do I have to use your conversion tools, or can I keep my existing website forms?
You can keep every form you have. Nothing needs to be replaced, rebuilt or reconnected. Bread & Butter is designed to work as an invisible intelligence layer on top of the website you already run, which means your forms keep doing exactly what they do today and Bread & Butter simply listens to them.
In short: Your existing forms keep working untouched, and Bread & Butter listens to them, capturing the email address on submission, verifying it, attaching the visitor's journey and enriching the profile before it reaches your CRM. Our conversion tools, including social login and the "Continue with" overlay, are optional extras that lift conversion rates and add verification at the point of entry. You get the full value of verification, the User Journey and Profile Enrichment using only the forms you already have.
Your existing forms keep working
Whether you use HubSpot, Gravity Forms, Salesforce, Contact Form 7, WPForms, Elementor or hand built custom HTML, our system detects the form and captures the email address entered into it. The form still posts where it always posted. Your notifications, autoresponders and CRM connections are untouched, and no field on your site changes.
One tracking code covers as many web properties as you run, so a person who fills in a form on one of your sites and browses another stays a single profile with a single journey.
What happens in the background
Once a visitor submits your existing form, Bread & Butter goes to work behind it:
- The address is checked in real time, so a dead inbox, a disposable burner or a typo is caught at the moment of submission rather than at the next campaign send.
- The User Journey, which has been recorded since that person's very first visit, is attached to the submission, so you see the path that led to the form rather than a bare email address.
- Profile Enrichment runs as soon as the email arrives, researching job title, company and related detail, and the research runs again on a return visit so the profile stays current.
- The finished profile, not the raw form fill, is what syncs to your CRM.
That is the whole point of the listening layer. You did not change your form, and yet what lands in your CRM is a person with context instead of a string of text. How Bread & Butter works with your existing forms & subscribe widgets walks through the same flow in more detail.
The conversion tools are optional
Our conversion tools sit on top of the same forms and are entirely opt in. The "Continue with" overlay adds 1-click social login through Google, Microsoft or LinkedIn, so a visitor can arrive with a verified address in a single tap. For anyone who would rather type, Real-Time Email Verification checks the address before the form unlocks, which stops junk at the door rather than filtering it afterwards.
Those two things tend to raise conversion rates and improve the quality of what you capture, which is why most customers switch them on eventually. But they are an upgrade, not a requirement. If you turn none of them on, verification, the User Journey and Profile Enrichment still run on the forms you already have.
