Release Notes v9.8

Coming early November 2026

Version 9.8 connects Bread & Butter to the AI assistant you already use. Add the Bread & Butter MCP server to Claude, ChatGPT, Microsoft Copilot, Gemini or Mistral Vibe, approve it with your Bread & Butter account, and ask anything about your visitors, leads, pages and campaigns in plain English. Eleven ready-made reports come with it, from the one-page Report for Your Boss to Leads to follow up, Attribution & Leads and Ads Spend, and each one can run on a schedule so it arrives on its own every week or every month.

It also brings two new tabs to Home. "What's interesting" is for whoever does the follow-up: the three to five people and things on your website this week worth knowing about, with who to call and why. "What stands out" is for the marketer: what's working, what to fix, and where the money is going, with the numbers behind each one. Every Intelligence Brief now opens with its own "What's interesting" for that one person, and with Google Ads connected, a lead who arrived from an ad carries what the click cost on the lead card.

Major Feature Highlights

Ask your AI assistant about your website

Bread & Butter now has its own MCP server. Add it to your assistant as a custom connector, approve the connection with your Bread & Butter account, and choose the websites it can see. From then on, ask in plain English: "Of the Engaged Leads researched this month, how many are VP or above, and what did they read before they raised their hand?", "Which keywords bring visitors who never come back?", "Where do visitors go when they leave my website?" Your assistant answers in a few lines, or builds the answer into a report with charts and recommendations. It sees the same data you see in Bread & Butter, with the same permissions your role has, and it can't change anything. Claude, ChatGPT, Microsoft Copilot, Gemini and Mistral Vibe all connect the same way; the steps for each are in the help centre.

Eleven reports, ready to run

For the questions most teams ask every week or every month, there's a report. Ask for one by name and give it a period: "Run my Bread & Butter Attribution & Leads report for last month." Your assistant gets the template from Bread & Butter, so there's nothing to download, and the reports it offers follow your role.

  • Report for Your Boss: one page for whoever signs off: what's interesting on your website, who was on it, what they wanted, and the few numbers that show it's working.
  • Attribution & Leads: which channels, campaigns and keywords bring Focused visitors and Engaged Leads, and which bring volume that never converts.
  • Ads Spend: what each campaign and keyword cost per Focused visitor and per Engaged Lead, with a verdict on each one and the budget shifts at the top.
  • Leads we found for you: where the Engaged Leads came from, how they raised their hand and who they are.
  • Leads to follow up: who came back this week, who is ready to call and why, and who is going cold.
  • Exit Destinations: where visitors go when they leave your website.
  • AI Assistants & GEO: the visits and leads that arrive from ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity, Gemini and the other assistants.
  • Email Campaigns: which emails bring people back, and what they do when they arrive.
  • Scorecard: your Focused Ratio against the Focused Index, by page, channel or campaign.
  • Bots & AI Crawlers: how much of your traffic is bots, which AI crawlers are reading your pages, and what they read.
  • Old School Website Analytics: the classic page, session and traffic numbers, with bots left out.

Every card in a report ends with a question to ask your assistant next, and everyone listed in a report links to their profile in Bread & Butter. Customers, and anyone in the Spam or Dead stages, never appear in a follow-up list. The prompt for each one is in Bread & Butter too, ready to copy into your assistant.

Reports on a schedule: Every assistant Bread & Butter connects to can run a prompt on a schedule. Set one up once, "Run my Bread & Butter Leads to follow up report for the last 7 days", and the report arrives on its own every Monday morning, or on the first of the month, without anyone asking for it.

What's interesting, every week: The "What's interesting" box from the Report for Your Boss is now part of the product, as a tab on Home. Every week it lists the three to five people and things on your website worth knowing about: the VP who came back three times and read the pricing page, the two colleagues from the same company who turned up on the same day, the lead who went quiet after a demo request. Each one says who to call and why, and every name links to the profile. It's rebuilt every week for the last seven days, and the same list goes out in the Weekly roundup email.

What stands out, for the marketer: Next to it, a second tab for whoever runs the website and the budget. "What stands out" lists five to seven things to act on this week: what's working and deserves more, what to fix, and where the money is going. A campaign that brings Focused visitors at a third of the cost of the others, a landing page that loses most of its visitors before they read anything, a keyword that spends every month and has never brought an Engaged Lead. Each one comes with the numbers behind it, and there's always at least one thing that works, never only problems. Sales sees What's interesting; Owners, Administrators and Marketers see both, and open on What stands out. Both go out in the Weekly roundup email.

What's interesting on every Engaged Lead: Every Intelligence Brief now opens with one thing: the single most useful fact about this person right now. Their company just raised a round, three colleagues from the same company have been on your website this month, or they look like a customer you closed last quarter. It's rebuilt every time they come back, it sits right after the name wherever the Brief is shown, in the app, in email, in Slack and in your CRM if you use one, and the Journey Summary moves below the three sessions.

What the click cost, on the lead card: With Google Ads connected, a lead who arrived from an ad now carries the cost of that click on the lead card: the average cost per click in your currency, and the Focused CPC, what you paid for a visitor who turned out to be Focused.

Web App

New Features & Enhancements

  • Ask your AI assistant box: on Insights and Attribution, and in the left nav, with the prompts for the reports that fit that page.
  • Team page: says what each role's AI assistant can see, that people with several accounts can ask across them, and carries a tip for agencies.
  • Company tab: every profile now has a Company tab with the company research: what they do, size, location, news and the other people from the same company who visited.
  • Lead card: the research status opens a popover with a link for each stage, and the lead stage colours are one colour per group, in the dropdown and on the selected pill.
  • App & Domains settings: the platform is set per domain, and Enabled or Disabled is shown apart from the live Active or Inactive status, in a card layout.
  • Custom funnels: change the date range and search without editing the funnel.
  • Credits: the paused panel says what the recommendation is based on, the add-on dialog carries the block size and a one-line reason, and after you add credits the purchase is confirmed and the "AI enrichment paused" alerts clear right away. The recommendation counts everything the account needs to run, including accounts with no credit history and accounts that were paused most of the month.
  • Profile storage: follows your plan. Free includes 200 profiles, Pro includes 5,000 and Pro Plus includes 10,000; Pro and Pro Plus use credits beyond that.
