Release Notes v9.7

Version 9.7 connects Bread & Butter to Google Ads. Connect your account in a few clicks, and the long numbers Google puts in your ad links become the real campaign, ad group and ad names, everywhere you see them. Every visit from a Google ad is now placed under its campaign and keyword from Google's own click record, even when the UTMs on the ad are missing or wrong.

It also brings a redesigned lead card that fits more on the same row, and Journey Summaries that lead with what each person did and where they came from.

Major Feature Highlights

Google Ads, connected in a few clicks: Google Ads now has its own card in Integrations. Click Connect, choose your Google account and pick the Google Ads account for this website. There's nothing to type: no Customer ID and no developer token. Agencies and anyone with a manager account see every client account they can reach and pick the right one. The card shows the connected account and when it last synced, and you can disconnect it at any time.

Names, not numbers: Google Ads sends campaign, ad group and ad IDs in your links, not names, so a visit could arrive labelled 189993294432   . Once Google Ads is connected, Bread & Butter looks each one up and shows the name instead, on Opportunities, in Attribution, in the Journey Summary, in the Intelligence Brief and in your CSV exports. Past visits are named too, and a campaign you rename in Google Ads shows its new name. Until you connect, a prompt next to each number on Opportunities and Attribution explains what it is and connects Google Ads from right there, bringing you back to the same page with the names filled in.

Every ad visit placed by the click itself: Until now, a visit from a Google ad landed under the right campaign only if the UTMs on the ad were set up correctly, and keywords were often missing altogether. With Google Ads connected, each visit is matched to Google's own record of the click, and placed under its campaign, ad group and keyword. Where there's no click record, Bread & Butter falls back to the campaign ID Google adds to the link, then to your UTMs. Your UTMs stay on the visit exactly as they were typed.

The People campaign filter follows the same rule, and so do the campaign list and its counts, so a campaign shows the same people wherever you look at it.

A lead card with more on the same row: The lead card on the dashboard has been redesigned. It's the same height as before and carries more: the name, city and region, the email address with its verified state, the LinkedIn mark, the role and company, and the Focused Score with a hover that explains it. The badge next to each email address now opens a short explanation with a Learn more link, and Bad Email has been folded into Spam, so an address that fails the check shows Spam.

Journey Summaries: what they did, and where they came from: The Journey Summary on every profile and in the Intelligence Brief now leads with what the person did on your website. It names where they came from, down to the Google Ads keyword and what the click cost when Google Ads is connected, and it tells a pricing request or a booked tour apart from a page view. It's the fastest way for a rep to see what a lead did before picking up the phone.

Web App

New Features & Enhancements

  • Google Ads in Integrations: connect, choose the account, see its status and disconnect, all from one card.
  • Connect prompts: next to unresolved Google Ads IDs on Opportunities and Attribution, plus a banner on Attribution.
  • Form Fill: the "Form" event is now called Form Fill in the app, with a hover that reads "Submitted a form on your website." Saved filters, field mappings and zaps keep working with no change.
  • New email events: Invalid Email, when someone enters an address that can't be accepted, and Corrected Email, when they fix it in the same visit.
  • Profile Summary header: the "Profile ready" or "Generating profile" status now sits on its own in the card header, apart from the Lead Stage dropdown.
  • Out of credits: a queued profile now simply reads "[Name] is queued and will be researched as soon as credits are added."
  • Custom funnel tabs: the button that completes your next step (Apply Filters, then Save Custom Funnel) is highlighted, so building a funnel reads as a guided sequence.
  • Integrations on the Free plan: Salesforce, HubSpot, Pipedrive, Zapier and webhooks carry a Pro badge.
  • Accounts page: Pro accounts no longer show a View Plans button. Plan changes stay under Account Details, Subscription.
  • Old billing page: links to the retired billing page, including the ones in billing emails, now open the Accounts page.
  • Shopify setup: Get Set Up now gives Shopify stores both snippets with step-by-step instructions: one in the theme, and one in Customer events, which is what connects a purchase to the buyer.

Bug Fixes

  • The trial countdown now always shows a number, says "ends today" on the last day, and matches across the Accounts page and the Insights banner.
  • The Attribution & Engagement Trends card on Insights no longer shows "No data" on very large accounts.
  • The device icon shows on every session, including when the browser isn't recognised.

Integrations & API

New Features & Enhancements

  • Google Ads sync: names, click matching and spend sync on their own schedules, and pause cleanly if Google's daily limit is reached, then pick up where they left off.
  • Credit recommendations: the add-on recommended in Add more Credits now counts the leads waiting to be researched, so it reflects what your account needs.

Performance & Fixes

  • LinkedIn matches: when a profile is matched to LinkedIn, the current company and role are taken from it and the company research runs on that company.
  • Journey Summary: a short interruption no longer stops a summary from refreshing.

Released October 2026.
