What does the usual marketing stack cost?

Who this is for: marketers comparing Bread & Butter with the tools a bigger team would buy to get the same intelligence.

What you'll learn: which products make up the usual stack, what each one costs, what it costs to set up, and where every price comes from.

Bigger teams get lead research, scoring and sourcing from a stack of tools, plus someone to join them up. This is the stack we priced for the comparison on our pricing page, with the plan, the price and the source for each line, so you can check every number yourself.

In short: the closest match is a marketing automation suite on the lowest plan with AI lead scoring ($3,600 a month plus a $7,000 onboarding fee), a contact database (about $1,250 a month), enrichment and lookalike tools (about $515 a month), and a consultant to set it up and run it ($3,000 a month and up, plus about $15,000 to set up). That's about $8,400 a month and $22,000 to get started, or about $122,400 in the first year. Prices were checked on 12 October 2026; vendors change them, so check the links below before you rely on a number.

Setting it all up A large HubSpot implementation project, median about $15,000 (range $12,000 to $60,000)
About $15,000 Profound, Sept 2026; range: Web Tonic

Monthly: $3,600 + $1,250 + $185 + $250 + $80 + $3,000 = about $8,400 a month ($8,365).

One-time: $7,000 + $15,000 = about $22,000 to get started.

First year: $8,365 × 12 + $22,000 = about $122,400.

Not counted: the server-side tracking, session recording, social login and integration tools a team building this stack usually adds as well, and the AI assistant subscription it would need to ask questions of its data. Each adds to the totals above.

What the stack still doesn't do

Even at this price, three things are hard to get from any combination of these tools:

A person's history before the form, kept for years. HubSpot's tracking cookies expire after six months (HubSpot), and Safari deletes cookies set by scripts after 7 days without a visit (WebKit). Someone who first came a year ago usually reaches the CRM with no history.

Research from a personal email address. Enrichment tools are built around work email; independent testing puts the match rate from a personal address at 12 to 28% (Crustdata, Apr 2026; a vendor benchmark, so treat it with caution).

Scoring every visitor from the first visit. HubSpot's AI scoring scores contacts already in the CRM and needs at least 25 converted and 25 non-converted contacts to start (HubSpot). It doesn't score people before they give their email.

Bread & Butter

Bread & Butter does the research, the scoring, the sourcing and the first email for you, and delivers them into the tools you already run. It's priced per website, not per seat. See Bread & Butter pricing.
