Release Notes v9.6
Version 9.6 puts you in charge of how you slice your traffic. The headline is custom funnels: build a view of exactly the visitors you care about, save it, and it becomes its own tab on the dashboard, next to Focused and Engaged Leads. Every funnel comes with its own list of leads and its own attribution report, so you can see what works and what doesn't within the traffic that matters to you.
Alongside that, every integration can now send one of three things, from a simple list of new leads to the full Intelligence Brief, and it can fire when a lead enters one of your custom funnels. And for online stores on Shopify and Squarespace, every purchase is now connected to the journey that led to it.
Major Feature Highlights
Custom funnels, as tabs on your dashboard Focused and Engaged Leads show the visitors most accounts care about. Now you can build your own, and each one becomes its own tab on Opportunities and Reports, there for everyone on your team.
- Build: combine any of the filters, such as segment, event, lead stage, Focused Score, source, referrer, medium, campaign, keyword, device and date range. Name it and save it.
- Refine: change the filters at any time and save it again.
- See what works: the attribution report runs on your funnel too. Isolate one campaign, only paid traffic, or only the visitors above a certain Focused Score, and see which sources, campaigns and keywords bring the serious visitors within that traffic, and which don't. Your whole site's numbers no longer hide what's happening in the part you care about.
- Export: download the funnel to CSV.
- Sync: connect the funnel to your favourite integration, such as Salesforce, HubSpot, Pipedrive, Slack, email, Google Sheets, Mailchimp, Zapier or a webhook, and every lead who enters it is sent automatically. Send a simple List of the leads, or the full Intelligence Brief with the research on the person and their company and three outreach starters.
Integrations send a List, an Intelligence Brief or an Intelligence Stream Every integration now lets you choose what it sends:
- List: the lead's name, email and the basics, sent the moment the trigger matches.
- Intelligence Brief: everything a rep needs to act: the research on the person and their company, what they did on your site, and three outreach starters. In Salesforce it's posted to the lead's Chatter feed, in HubSpot and Pipedrive it's a note on the record, and in Slack it's a formatted message that says whether this is a new lead or a repeat visit.
- Intelligence Stream: the complete record, for data warehouses and custom workflows.
You decide which leads get sent. An integration doesn't have to send every lead. Point it at one of your custom funnels and it sends only the leads you care about: visitors above a certain Focused Score, leads from a specific campaign, people who completed a particular event, or any combination of filters. It can also fire when a lead reaches a lead stage, such as Engaged Lead or Opportunity.
The Brief and Stream wait until the visitor's session ends so they include everything from that visit, and are sent no later than an hour after the lead's last activity.
Ecommerce: every purchase, connected to the journey that led to it On Shopify and Squarespace, checkout happens on the platform's own pages, where most website tracking can't follow. Bread & Butter now picks up the completed purchase and the buyer's email address, and joins it to everything that person did on your store before they bought: their first visit, every repeat visit and the pages they read along the way.
- Buyers, not just visitors. Every buyer becomes a lead with their whole journey attached, so they appear in your leads and flow to your integrations like any other lead.
- Attribution by sales, not clicks. Campaigns, sources and keywords are measured by the purchases they bring.
- Set up for you. When you create an account on an ecommerce platform, the Purchase Completed event is created automatically, and Settings has the steps for your platform.
Coming in 9.7: the order details Shopify and Squarespace pass through, such as the purchase amount, and buyers moved to the Won/Closed lead stage automatically when they complete a purchase.
Web App
New Features & Enhancements
- Integrations page: a card for every integration, one Add Integration dialog for setup, and a switch to pause any integration without losing its setup.
- Webhook signing secret: view, copy and rotate the secret your server uses to confirm a webhook really came from Bread & Butter.
- Sort order shown: the results row on Focused, Engaged Leads and All Traffic now shows how the list is sorted.
- Filter dropdowns use checkboxes, so it's clear what's selected.
- Accounts page: a new card layout.
- Intelligence Brief tab: Company Summary now sits above Location, and the tab is hidden for visitors who haven't engaged yet, since there's nothing to brief.
- Mobile access: scanning the QR code opens the app directly if it's already installed, instead of always going to the app store. The QR element in the left menu has been updated.
- Settings: more supported platforms are listed, with additional code snippets for Squarespace.
- Ecommerce: a Purchase Completed event is set up automatically when you create an account on an ecommerce platform.
- Lead stages renamed: stages 1, 2, 3 and 7 are now Visitor, Prospect, Engaged Lead and Opportunity.
