How do I filter, map, and save specific visitor segments within my traffic dashboard?

Your Bread & Butter dashboard automatically organizes your audience into four main default views at the top of your screen for immediate clarity:

  • Focused: Your curated list of high intent, real human visitors. Because our system completely strips away the noise of automated bots and instant bounces, you will notice this tab shows a smaller, but highly actionable, percentage of your overall traffic.
  • Engaged: The pipeline of your most interactive prospects. This includes visitors who have explicitly identified themselves either through filling out an existing form on your website or through Bread & Butter conversion tools.
  • MQL: Your Marketing Qualified Leads. This tab acts as the ultimate success factor for your predictive tracking. Prospects land here either when your marketing team manually tags them, or when they automatically hit specific user journey milestones. Once a visitor becomes an MQL, their profile is fed directly back into our LeadScore AI, teaching the machine learning model exactly what a winning prospect looks like so it can continuously improve its scoring accuracy for all future traffic.
  • All Traffic: The completely unfiltered view of every single visitor on your site, captured via our proprietary server tracking to guarantee total data integrity.

The Filtering Engine To find highly specific types of prospects beyond a simple text search, use the comprehensive filtering engine located just below the main tabs. You can mix and match multiple parameters:

  • The Global Search Field Before even touching the dropdown filters, you can use the universal search bar to find exact prospects. This field performs flexible text searches that are not sensitive to capitalization, scanning multiple data points simultaneously. You can search by:
    • Profile Details: Their email address, first name, last name, or their combined full name (for example, typing "Alex Wilson").
    • Location Data: Their city, country, country code, state or province, and state or province abbreviation based on their most recent known IP address.
  • Timeframe: Select specific date ranges or view your historical data all at once.
  • Identity and Status: Filter your audience by Segment, Lead Status, or our predictive LeadScore AI, which continually learns and improves its accuracy over time.
  • Granular Intent: Search by the exact Keyword a prospect used to land on your website.
  • Technical Details: Filter by the specific user journey event they triggered or the Device they are using.
  • Acquisition Channels and The Source Filter: Isolate your traffic by specific marketing Campaign, Referrer, Medium, or dive deep into the Source dropdown, which categorizes exactly how a visitor found you into eight distinct channels:
    • Organic: Visitors who arrived by searching traditional search engines like Google or Bing.
    • Social: Traffic originating from social media platforms such as LinkedIn, Facebook, or X.
    • GEO / AEO / AI: This isolates traffic driven by Generative Engine Optimization, Answer Engine Optimization, or AI chat platforms like ChatGPT and Perplexity.
    • Direct / Unspecified: Visitors who typed your website URL directly into their browser, clicked a saved bookmark, or arrived via a method where strict privacy settings stripped away the referral data.
    • Referred: Traffic that arrived by clicking a link on an external website, such as a partner blog, directory, or news article.
    • Ad / Paid: Visitors acquired through your paid advertising campaigns and sponsored content.
    • Drip Email: Traffic generated specifically from your automated email marketing sequences and newsletter campaigns.
    • Messaging Apps / CRM: Visitors who clicked through from direct communication platforms like Slack or WhatsApp, or from links hosted within your Customer Relationship Management software.

Mapping, Expanding, and Saving Your Segments

The Bread & Butter dashboard is completely dynamic. The moment you apply a filter or enter a search term, the interactive map and the detailed visitor list below it will automatically parse down the results. The map visually pins the exact geographic locations of only the prospects who match your current criteria, giving you an immediate visual understanding of where your intent is coming from.

To keep your workspace clean and organized, you can easily expand or collapse the interactive map, the filtering engine, and the visitor results list using the small arrow icons.

Once you have built a specific list that you are completely satisfied with, you can save it directly to your dashboard. This generates a brand new custom tab right next to your default tabs, allowing you to instantly access that exact audience segment whenever you log in without having to rebuild your filters every time.

Resetting Your Search and Filters If you ever need to start completely fresh, simply click the Clear button located next to your filters. This instantly removes all active search terms and parameters, returning your dashboard directly back to its default state.
