Release Notes v8.5 + v8.6
Release Date: March 19, 2026 Version: 8.5 & 8.6
Version 8.5 & 8.6 brings a massive visual refresh to the Bread and Butter Opportunities experience, completely revamped billing through Stripe, powerful new LeadScore AI enrichment capabilities for personal email addresses, and highly requested customization options for WordPress. Here is everything new, improved, and fixed in this release.
Massive Navigation and Terminology Update
We have completely overhauled our navigation and updated our core terminology to better align with your revenue goals. Here is a quick breakdown of the new names you will see across the platform:
- Opportunities: Formerly the dashboard, this is your new home for tracking the entire user journey. It includes four distinct tabs to better analyze your traffic.
- Focused: Your filtered list of high intent, anonymous traffic.
- Engaged Leads: Formerly Conversions, this is where your verified leads live.
- Won/Closed: Formerly Customers, this is your ultimate success stage before sending leads to your CRM.
- All Traffic: Formerly All Visitors, this tab displays absolutely everyone across your site.
- Nurture Action Queue: Your dedicated workspace for executing outreach.
- Attribution: This is where you prove the ROI of your campaigns.
Web App
New Features & Enhancements
- Expandable User Profile Panel: When you click on a visitor tile on the Opportunities page, you will now see a split view. You can easily view the user journey with up to ten years of history, alongside a smart profile summary for the visitor, displayed cleanly on the right. More comprehensive company and visitor information exists within the Nurture Action Queue.
- New Opportunities Layout and Attribution Page: We have reorganized the Opportunities view for a cleaner experience. The map has been moved below the filters, and the App Insights charts have been relocated to their own dedicated new Dashboard section to be released in version 8.6.
- Redesigned Billing and Plans Experience: We have fully migrated to Stripe Checkout for a more seamless and secure billing experience. You can now easily view your next billing date, update payment methods, and compare plans directly from the redesigned Accounts page.
- Dynamic Attribution Empty States and Pro Tips: We have updated the helper text and empty state messages across the Opportunities and Attribution pages. Each Opportunities tab (Focused, Engaged Leads, Won/Closed, All Traffic) now features custom explanations to help your team understand exactly what data they are looking at.
- Advanced Nurture Action Queue Filtering: The Nurture Action Queue now utilizes the same top level tabs as your Opportunities (Focused, Engaged Leads, Won/Closed), allowing you to quickly isolate the leads you want to engage.
- Smarter Send Test Email Logic: Sending a test Nurture email will now deliver the test to the email address you are currently logged in with, rather than the address configured to send the campaign, preventing confusion. (If you have not set up an email provider yet, clicking this will now prompt the setup dialog).
- Contextual Help Links: We added targeted support links directly inside the application. You will now find instant guidance next to filters, sorting options, integrations, team roles, global conversion settings, and more.
- Streamlined User Tiles: To save valuable space, exact event dates are now tucked neatly inside a hover state over the event badge.
- Cleaner User Journeys: We refined the visual timeline by improving event alignment, standardizing badge text truncation, and thinning the connection line for a much cleaner look.
UI & UX Improvements
- Global UI Modernization: The entire web app has received a visual facelift. You will notice a cleaner background color, updated drop shadows, centralized page content for wider screens, and a sleek new vertical left hand navigation menu.
- Tab Label Updates: To better reflect your data, our main Opportunities tabs have been completely renamed. The Conversions tab is now Engaged Leads, the Customers tab is now Won/Closed, and All Visitors is now All Traffic.
- Map Enhancements: We have made navigating your traffic geographically much more powerful and significantly less frustrating.
- Increased Visibility: The map now displays up to 50 of your most recent filtered results, complete with a helpful on screen indicator confirming the exact volume of displayed pins.
- Direct Nurture Routing: Clicking any pin on the map will now transport you directly to that specific user within the Nurture tab for immediate action.
- Scroll Wheel Protection: We completely disabled scroll wheel zooming on the map. You can now scroll down your Opportunities page safely without accidentally zooming into the ocean!
- Streamlined Event Badges: We have reduced clutter in the user journey view. If a visitor triggers multiple authentication events on a single page, we now only show the highest value badge (Profile Verified > Email Captured > Signed In).
- Faster Nurture Expectations: The expected generation time for AI emails in the Nurture tab has been updated to reflect our actual speed, now displaying as under 60 seconds.
- Prioritized Custom Events: In the Events dropdown, your Custom Events are now grouped at the top of the list so they are easier to access, separated from System Events by a divider.
- Monochrome Maps: The visitor location map has been updated to a subdued, monochrome style to better match the modern aesthetic.
- Clearer Email Validation Statuses: Email addresses in the user tile now feature clearer labels to indicate their status: Verified, Validated, Bad Email, or Not Validated (with helpful hover text explaining each).
- Applebot Recognition: Similar to our custom UI for Googlebot, Applebot traffic is now clearly identified with an Apple icon and labeled as Applebot in Mothership rather than an anonymous visitor.
- Top 5 Expandable Lists: For specific sources, campaigns, and keywords in your reports, we now display the top 5 results by default to save space, with a handy plus icon to expand and view the rest.
- Cleaner Empty States: The empty states for UTM parameters like Medium, Campaign, and Keyword have been redesigned to remove unnecessary illustrations and instead provide a direct link to our advanced tracking guide.
- Improved Legibility: We adjusted the background colors for Focused and Engaged leads to provide better contrast, and we made the top app selection header variable length so long application names are never cut off again.
- Anonymous User Cleanup: To keep profiles focused and clean, we no longer display the empty Journey Summary section for anonymous visitors.
Bug Fixes
- Fixed an issue where the Nurture send authorization could get stuck in an endless loop.
- Stopped the Attribution page width from shifting slightly while data was loading.
- Corrected an issue where navigating quickly away from the Nurture Action Queue tab would forcibly pull you back once it finished loading.
API & Backend Core
New Features & Enhancements
- AI Enrichment for Personal Emails: This is a massive upgrade to our AI research engine. If a user signs up with a generic email (like
@gmail.com) but our AI discovers their employer, the system will now automatically run a full company data enrichment. Your Nurture emails can now reference their company name, news, and highlights, even if they didn't use a corporate address. - Disable AI Toggle: Administrators can now easily disable all cost-incurring AI actions (Summaries, Nurture generation, Profile research) via a master toggle in the Advanced Settings.
- Domain Lock Security: To prevent account misuse, the primary authorized domain for an application can no longer be changed once the app has started receiving traffic.
- Cost & Time Tracking by Task: The AI research pipeline has been broken down into specific task groups (LinkedIn lookup, Summary Generation, etc.) to provide vastly improved cost reporting and transparency in the admin Service Usage logs.
- Most Important Event Tracking: The backend now accurately calculates and returns the "most important event" a user has ever triggered based on your custom event hierarchy.
Performance & Bug Fixes
- Fixed a severe issue where the nightly cache-warming job would saturate the database and cause brief API freezes.
- Resolved a bug where AI Journey Summaries were being generated for anonymous users but failing to save to their profiles.
- Fixed an issue where the AI would attempt to generate a company summary for disposable/fake domains.
WordPress Plugin (WPP)
New Features & Enhancements
- Custom Post Type Targeting: You can now specifically target Custom Post Types in the Bread & Butter page picker, allowing you to easily deploy widgets across specific content categories (like Portfolios or Recipes) without selecting pages individually.
- Custom CSS Theme Editor: Advanced users can now directly edit the
THEME.SCSSfile from within the WordPress plugin to perfectly match the conversion tools to their brand's stylesheet. - Custom Content Gate Success Text: You can now customize the success messages that display when a user unlocks a Classic or Preview Content Gate.
- "Remember Close" Timer: We’ve exposed the option to hide the "Instant Lead Capture" widget for returning visitors. It is now set to hide for 24 hours by default if a user actively dismisses it.
- Setup Screen Redesign: The "Not Set Up" state within the plugin has been redesigned with clearer copy, better setup steps, and direct links to preview the tools in action.
Bug Fixes
- Fixed a known incompatibility issue where having Bread & Butter active would hide configuration fields within the third-party "Custom Post Type UI" plugin.
JavaScript Library (JSL) & Conversion Widgets
New Features & Enhancements
- Mobile Toggle for Instant Lead Capture: You now have the option to completely disable the floating Instant Lead Capture widget for mobile visitors while keeping it active for desktop traffic.
- Smart Tool Hierarchy: If you have both the Instant Lead Capture widget and the Newsletter Subscribe tool active on the same page, the Instant Lead Capture prompt will automatically hide when the Newsletter pops up to prevent overwhelming the user.
- Modern CSS Styling: The base JavaScript library has received a CSS update for smoother animations and a more modern look across all widgets.
- Expanded Language Support: Dutch has been fully added to the locale files, and all missing translation strings across all supported languages have been updated.
Bug Fixes
- Fixed a bug in the Universal Form Booster where users could type text into the underlying form fields while the social sign-in window was open.
- Resolved a console error that occurred during initial JSL load in incognito windows.
Nurture and AI Agent
New Features & Enhancements
- Smarter User Journey Summaries The AI that writes your User Journey Summaries has received a massive upgrade to focus on the big picture. Instead of just listing recent page views, the agent now analyzes a visitor's entire history across all sessions. It intelligently correlates their job title and profile data with the specific pages they viewed and heavily factors in your Custom Events. If a visitor has a Lead Score of eight or higher, the summary will explicitly highlight their deep engagement.
- Cleaner Summary Formatting The agent no longer spits out exact page titles in brackets, avoids referencing your own website name redundantly, and never includes unsolicited advice on how to reach out. The result is a clean, professional, and highly actionable paragraph.
- Condensed Company Insights To keep the profile clean and easy to read, the AI now generates a condensed bulleted list with a maximum of five points for company summaries. The agent still uses the comprehensive long form data in the background to write your personalized emails, but your visual dashboard stays completely clutter free.
Bug Fixes
- Fixed a backend syncing error that occasionally prevented freshly generated journey summaries from saving correctly to the user profile.
